Getting Started
Frequently asked questions
Why MyTelescope?
MyTelescope is an intelligence layer for your AI. It connects to Claude via MCP, plugging real demand data from Google, TikTok, Amazon and more directly into your workflow, so instead of guessing about the market, you just ask and get answers backed by real signals. Use it to track trends, do research, find content gaps, monitor competitors and build custom agents with your own documents and strategy combined with live market data.

Data & Platforms
Frequently asked questions
What data sources does MyTelescope use?
MyTelescope pulls search volume data from Google, TikTok, Amazon, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Bing, X, eBay, Perplexity, App Store, Google Play and Etsy. 13 platforms in total.
How often is the data updated?
Data is updated monthly so you always have a current signal to work from.
What is MyTelescope's AI trained on?
MyTelescope's AI understands frameworks like the 4 Ps, the 60/40 rule, Porter's Five Forces, and Peter Drucker's thinking on strategy. That means it combines market intelligence with a deep understanding of marketing and business strategy.
How do credits work and how do I buy more?
Each time you query MyTelescope data, a small number of credits are used. You start with free credits and can upgrade your plan when you need more. You can also top up with extra credits at any time without changing your plan.
MCP & Technical
Frequently asked questions
What is MCP and how does it work?
MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard that lets AI tools like Claude connect to external data sources. MyTelescope uses MCP to plug your market data directly into your AI workflow.
What is an API, and how is it different from MCP?
An API lets two pieces of software talk to each other. MCP does the same thing but is designed for AI, so anyone can connect a tool to Claude without code.
What does MyTelescope's MCP actually do?
MyTelescope acts as an intelligence layer for Claude. When you ask a question about your market, Claude pulls demand data from Google, TikTok, Amazon and more in the background, answering with real signals instead of training data alone.
What is a skill file and why do I need it?
A skill file is a small instruction file that tells Claude how and when to use MyTelescope. You upload it once during setup and it works automatically. Download the most recent version at /install.
Can I edit the skill file myself?
Yes. The skill file is a plain text file and you can edit it if you want to customize how Claude uses MyTelescope. We recommend the default version unless you are comfortable with prompting.
Security & Privacy
Frequently asked questions
Is my data secure?
Yes. MyTelescope is built on a security-first foundation aligned with SOC 2 standards. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored on Google Cloud Platform's enterprise-grade infrastructure, and never shared without your permission.
Is it safe to connect an MCP to Claude?
Yes. MCP connections are read-only by default. MyTelescope can send data to Claude, but Claude cannot modify anything in your MyTelescope account. Anthropic does not have access to your MyTelescope data.
Is it safe to upload my documents into an MCP?
Yes. Documents you upload are stored securely and are only used to give Claude context when you ask questions. They are not shared with other users or used to train any AI models.
Can other users of my MCP access or edit my documents?
No. Your documents are private to your account. Other users connected to the same MCP server cannot see, access or edit your uploaded documents.
